School Groups
Steve Roberts, the Director of Blue Mountain Activities has 20 years’ experience teaching in schools and outdoor education centres, and understands the specific needs of different groups within schools, for example:
We can provide an appropriate programme of team building activities to include adventure activities and/or problem solving to numerous groups within school;
- A varied and balanced programme of adventure activities to Years 5 + 6 and to Years 7 - 10 during the Summer term, as part of an ‘inclusive’ and enrichment programme.
- Programmes for the‘Gifted and Talented’ to extend and broaden the skills and knowledge of above-average young people
- Behaviour Improvement Programmes over a number of weeks, working with young people with special educational needs and who present challenging behaviour
- Providing an Outdoor Adventure programme for Learning Support Units, aimed at working with young people to increase motivation, raise self esteem and self confidence, promote positive behaviour, raise achievement, leading to reintegration into school life
- A short residential programme offered for the whole of Year 7 year group, at the beginning of September or October to promote personal development and team working skills and to allow the young people to get to know each other as part of an accelerated process and at the start of their secondary school life
- A Team building event for Y12 to allow the young people to get to know each other, to promote personal development and team working skills at the start of their sixth form ‘A’ level course
- Team building events for new or recently reorganised staff teams
We can provide an exciting programme of adventure activities which would aim to encourage personal development, team working skills together with an appreciation of the environment.
We can offer an action packed and individually tailored programme of adventure activities that are fun, safe and informative, according to the needs of the individual and group. The activities are organised in the picturesque Peak District National Park.
Activities include; rock scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering, stream scrambling, canoeing, cave/mine exploration, high/low ropes, improvised raft- building and problem solving.
- All our staff are very experienced and appropriately professionally qualified
- All outdoor equipment is well maintained to a high standard
- The activity programme may be for one day, two days or multiple days or as part of a residential experience. Two activities can be combined in any one day, for example, rock climbing in the morning (3-4 hours) followed by canoeing in the afternoon (3-4 hours)
